MF DOOM continues to score the trailer for a new Marvel-themed game mode in Fortress Heroes.
The Limited Time Mode (LTM) known as “Day of Doom” allows players to compete in two 16-player teams as Dr. Doom’s followers and the Avengers.
Playing as a follower is tasked with collecting six arcane artifacts, while the Avengers are tasked with stopping them. If the followers successfully complete their mission, they must eliminate the remaining heroes to win the game.
“Fight for the Avengers and defeat Doom’s army with items like the new Iron Man battle kit and the Stark Industries energy rifle,” reads the press release for Fortress Heroes.
“Or, as one of Doom’s followers, race to collect the fragments of Pandora’s Box scattered across the island, and harness the power of Victor von Doom himself as the Doomsday Chosen!”
With the game mode incorporating Doctor Doom, the masked Marvel supervillain who inspired MF DOOM’s post-KMD look, Fortnite is using the late rapper’s “Trap Door” collaboration with Jake One ” (from the producer’s 2008 album White Van Music) is a perfect fit to promote their latest update.
Day of Doom launches on Tuesday (September 17) and will be playable until October 4.
