Kendrick Lamar surprised just about everyone by posting a scrappy new song on Instagram.
On Wednesday (September 11), K.Dot’s little-used Instagram account released a new, as-yet-untitled song featuring a pair of black Nike Air shoes on the cover.
No word on the song is available yet, but Kendrick is ready to take on the world and the lyrics appear to reference his recent fight with Drake.
Listen to the song below.
In the first verse, Kendrick raps: “Why talk sense to these niggas if they can’t see the future? / Why argue with these clowns if the circus is working fine? / Just take that guy Go down, that’s it.
In the second story, he takes a shot at an unnamed enemy who is a “dirty bitch because you’re mentally insecure/a flashy n-gga who makes dirty decisions for money Pillar/I hope to smash his head before he comes home.
In other recent Kendrick news, Joe Budden made a shocking statement about his and Drake’s feud, claiming they spoke before their lyrical war last summer.
Speaking on the latest episode of his eponymous podcast, the former Slaughterhouse rapper cited insider speculation that the rap rivals “had a conversation” before exchanging songs outlining the rules of the fight.
“I heard that Drake and Kendrick had a conversation before any diss record came out. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I heard them talking!” he said.
When asked for more details about the alleged conversation, Bardem said: “It was like that Teddy Pendergrass part of the shit,” referring to the dreamy scene in Kendrick’s “Euphoria” With a pejorative introduction, the song samples the soul singer’s 1981 song “You’re My,” one of my latest and greatest inspirations.
“Hey, how do you want to proceed?” he continued, imagining what Kendrick asked Drake during their alleged conversation. “‘What are we doing? Oh, we’re rapping? Okay, let’s just keep a low profile. And he’s not staying silent, so…
“It’s not even real tea. It’s just tea, because saying this to him on the phone – like, I know what it feels like when you fucking tear up a n-gga. “I called first Check with him. “Hey man, are we really doing this?”
