Dame Dash said he would give away a Roc-A-Fella chain if anyone offered him more than $10 million for his stake in Roc-A-Fella Records.
Dame Dash promises Roc-A-Fella chain to highest bidder
Dame Dash took to Instagram on Monday (August 19) to talk about his 33.3% stake in Roc-A-Fella Records, which will be auctioned by the U.S. Marshals on August 29 in New York City. The 33.3% stake includes Jay-Z’s seminal debut album “Reasonable Doubt,” of which Dame’s share is still for sale. Jay-Z filed for ownership of the legendary project earlier this month and will acquire the rights to the LP in 2031. .
“So, if you do want to buy a one-third of Roc-A-Fella Inc., you’ve got to bring some bread, and anything over $10 million, I’ll add sugar,” Dame says in the video below. “You can take an original Roc-A-Fella chain off my neck. Because when Roc-A-Fella really existed, I was the only one who gave away Roc-A-Fella chains. If I don’t give you the chain This is not an authentic Roc-A-Fella chain, this is a vintage chain from around my neck, like the one I took off my neck to give to Kanye.
He continued, “So, again, if you’re going to make a call, have the intention of spending some real money and actually completing the transaction, but if you come with the right amount of money, you’re going to get a chain, or at least you’re going to get a chain.

Reasonable Doubt Ownership Transfers to Jay-Z
Dame pushed to sell his stake after Hov’s lawyers notified the court that there was reasonable doubt that it would be owned by Jay-Z in 2031.
Days later, Dahm insisted the album was being sold so potential buyers wouldn’t think it was no longer available.
“They can say whatever they want and it’s still selling,” Dame wrote on IG in early August. “What you bought is not the copyright, but a part of ROC A FELLA INC. Please ask carefully!”
The rights will cover Hov’s debut album and title, as well as each of the 14 tracks. This means that the buyer of Dame’s shares will have ownership of the entire album for seven years before it is handed over to Hov. The auction doesn’t appear to have changed anything, as the rights to the project have returned to Jay-Z 35 years after the album’s release. Jay-Z’s lawyers are just trying to make things work.
“Dame’s” upcoming auction is the result of legal documents filed by director Josh Webber. He filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Dame back in 2019 and won more than $800,000 in a civil judgment against the music executive. Weber claimed that Demme promoted the 2019 film “Dear Frank” as his own work even though it was removed from the project’s production.
