Kendrick Lamar is declared the winner of the Drake Battle. His songs were more popular and performed better on the Billboard charts. If there was any doubt that he was the winner, that question was crushed on Juneteenth. The rapper held his “Pop Out” show in Los Angeles, which was attended by numerous idols and TDE affiliates. However, the most surprising appearance of the night came from Kendrick Lamar’s fiancée Whitney Alford.
Alford was spotted by fans during the concert. The iPhone footage shows Alford sitting next to her and Lamar’s children. It’s innocuous on the surface, but those who have been following Kendrick Lamar’s battle with Drake know that Alford isn’t guaranteed to show up on the night. Drake has made serious accusations against Lamar. Many of them had to do with Alford, and rumors that the Compton rapper abused her. Drake makes this claim on the chilling “Family Matters.” “They hired a crisis management team,” he complained. “To clear up the fact that you beat the Queen.”
Drake also expressed doubts about Alford’s relationship with Kendrick Lamar’s business partner Dave Free. He even speculated that Free was the real father of Lamar and Alford’s son. These rumors have been going on for weeks. Fans pointed out that Whitney Alford failed to wish Lamar a happy Father’s Day, despite previously wishing herself a happy Mother’s Day on social media. However, Drake’s accusations remain pure speculation. Alford has never responded to the rapper’s claims or spoken publicly about her relationship with Lamar.
In fact, the only time on record that Whitney Alford talked about Lamar was. She narrated three different songs for the rapper’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers (2022), including album opener “United In Grief.” Alford is also photographed holding her son on the cover. Kendrick Lamar also didn’t talk about his fiancée, but he did admit to relationship woes on Mr. Morale’s penultimate song, “Mother I Sober.” “I’m back home, seven years on the road, chasing manliness,” he raps. “But by the time you hear the song, Whitney is gone.” Publicly at least, the two appear to have worked things out.
