In light of the Father’s Day holiday weekend, Sonny Digital and Honorable CNOTE chose to give each other a hard time on social media.

The producers, who have been partners with each other for more than a decade, had a brief exchange on Twitter (X) during which each claimed to be the other’s elder. The Michigan-born producer, who was originally launched by CNOTE, talked about assuming he became Sonny’s father at a young age, while also fondly acknowledging the Atlanta counterpart’s own personal success.
“When I had your son, I was young and I was nervous and didn’t know how things were going to turn out…but I can actually say that my son made himself a legend and to this day I am a proud father. … @SonnyDigital i’m so proud of you my son always strives to be the best!
Sonny immediately retorted: “My son, when I had you in 1980, I knew you were going to be famous and look at the champion you are now.”

In Sonny’s reply, one user added, “You know he’s about 100 years older than you, just hanging out,” to which he replied, “It’s okay…” I’m his dad.
But CNOTE seemed to have the last laugh, taking to Twitter to share a follow-up tweet to an Instagram story he shared featuring a throwback photo of him and Sonny.
“When life begins, dad is always here,” he wrote in the text on the photo he tagged himself.

It’s great to see the two producers still have such a friendly relationship with each other, considering what they’ve been through together. The partnership between CNOTE and Sonny has been marked by a series of major wins in the music industry, highlighting their creative chemistry and innovative production styles. They first met in the mid-2010s, when both men became prominent figures in Atlanta’s trap rap scene.
Their synergy culminated on notable albums, including their work on tracks like 21 Savage’s “Red Opps” and Future’s “Incredible,” both of which showcased their blend of gritty beats and melodic underpinnings. The ability to blend together. Fast forward to 2024, and their collaboration has become a huge commercial success, with their work regularly charting on the Billboard Hot 100 and receiving frequent airplay on urban radio stations.
Take a look at the correspondence between the above producers.
