50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour has been officially declared one of the most successful hip-hop tours in history, becoming the fourth tour in the genre to gross $100 million in ticket sales.
Touring Data takes a by-the-numbers look at the final tour of the G-Unit boss’s illustrious career. Figures released on Wednesday (May 15) showed ticket revenue for the tour was $104,975,322, with a total of 1,179,753 tickets sold, with an average ticket price of approximately $88 per person.
Billed as 50 Cent’s farewell as a touring artist (as the name suggests), the Final Lap Tour began in North America last July and has since invaded regions such as Europe, Australia, and Saudi Arabia.
The 103-game tour featured support from Busta Rhymes, Jeremih, Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, as well as one-off appearances from Eminem, J. Cole and even Ed Sheeran.
Busta credited the massive tour with helping him lose weight, joking: “I’m sexy. I lost 37 pounds on that damn tour. I’m not asking you if you think I’m sexy, I just want you to These assholes understand that I’m hot, period.
Meanwhile, Yayo revealed that 50 financed the entire tour himself and maintained military-level discipline throughout.
