TI’s battle with 50 Cent reached new heights this week when he found himself at the center of a police department social media joke.
The South Fulton Police Department posted a message on Facebook asking residents to stop calling about the rap feud between the Atlanta veteran and the Queens native.
The department called the dispute a “speech difference of lyrical proportions” and joked that it would not send units to deal with “vocabulary disputes.” As hip-hop leaders shared screenshots of humorous police statements on social media, their posts quickly went viral.
The whole thing started when TI accused 50 Cent of pulling out of the Verzuz fight they were discussing privately in Los Angeles. King of the South said they discussed promoting the event together while they were working on TV and film projects, but 50 years later act like that conversation never happened.
50 Cent responded by posting an unflattering photo of TI’s wife, Tiny Harris, on Instagram, which violated the Harris family’s bottom line. The G-Unit founder has been trolling TI with memes and social media posts instead of posting musical responses.
The conflict took a more serious turn when TI’s son King Harris joined in and targeted his late mother, 50-year-old Sabrina Jackson. King posted a video asking 50 people to post photos of his mother’s grave and made it clear his family was not allowed inside
TI has released multiple diss songs directed at his former friend, calling him a “snitch” while citing prison documents.
He also accused 50 people of mentioning his name in federal documents and questioned his street cred in songs like “Right One” and “Bully What?”
The police department’s post received thousands of likes and shares as people found humor in law enforcement’s comments about the rap beef.
