On this day in 2004, OutKast made history by winning Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards for Speakerboxxx/The Love Below. The win marked one of the few times a hip-hop album has taken the top honor. Andre 3000 and Big Boi’s double-album masterpiece fused funk, rap, R&B, and pop, setting a new bar for genre-bending artistry. To this day, it remains one of hip-hop’s proudest Grammy moments.
