The trial of the man accused of murdering Takeoff in 2022 is scheduled for November.
Patrick Clark had a preliminary hearing Tuesday (February 10) at the Harris County Courthouse. Police say Patrick Clark shot and killed a Migos member during an argument following a dice game at 810 Pool and Bowling Alley in Houston. During the hearing, his trial date was set for November 5.
The trial will begin on November 1, 2022, the day he was tragically killed in a shooting at a private party, nearly four years ago. According to eyewitnesses, gunshots were fired during an argument between several men while gambling in the lobby. Taking off is not about participating in a dice game, nor is it about arguing. However, according to police, he was an innocent bystander. The rapper was hit in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.
A woman was also shot in the head during the incident but survived. Authorities identified Clark, who was also a local DJ, as the shooter through surveillance video. He was arrested a month after the shooting and pleaded not guilty. He has been held on $1 million bail for the past three years.
In June 2023, Takeoff’s mother filed a wrongful death lawsuit against 810 Billiards & Bowling. In 2024, the owner of 810 filed to dismiss the lawsuit, claiming that Takeoff died as a result of his actions.
