Rumors that Universal Music Group executives stepped in to break up the feud between Drake Lamar and Kendrick Lamar are false.
UMG denies mediating between Drake, Kendrick Beef
After reaching monumental heights, Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s rap war has gone quiet and appears to be over. perhaps. According to recent reports from Discord, executives from Universal Music Group, which distributes music by Drake and Kendrick Lamar through Republic and Interscope respectively, have stepped in to quell the controversy. A representative for UMG told XXL on Wednesday (May 8) that the music group was not involved. Sources said no such meeting took place and the speculation was completely fabricated.
The viral post (shown below) claims that UMG is “putting heavy pressure” on K-Dot to step down. According to the post, a Zoom meeting was allegedly held with all parties involved, where K-Dot was asked to denounce his claims that Drake was a pedophile in his song “Not Like Us,” as the accusations could harm Drizzy’s music and business dealings, which in turn hurt the brand’s profits.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s beef gets ugly
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s feud came to a head last weekend when the rappers released six diss songs between May 3 and 6, including Drake’s “Family Matters” ” and “The Heart Pt. 6” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” and “Not Like Us.” Things got very personal, with Kendrick Lamar claiming that Drake liked underage girls and hid his 11-year-old daughter. Drake also took on K-Dot, accusing the Compton, Calif., rapper of abusing his fiancée.
Allegations of the scandal have become so intense that people are questioning whether court action is possible. It didn’t help the situation that Drake’s security guard was reportedly shot and killed outside of Drake’s Toronto mansion on Tuesday morning.
