Beyoncé and Taylor appear to have a friendly relationship, but that friendship doesn’t seem to extend to their work.
Despite rumors to the contrary, or what fans think they may have heard, Bey’s new album Cowboy Carter reportedly doesn’t feature any vocals from the pop star.
On Friday (March 29), Entertainment Tonight learned that while Swifties speculated that Taylor provided background vocals for “Bodyguard,” those rumors (partly caused by someone in Beyoncé’s inner circle) turned out to be Incorrect.
Last month, Killah B teased a collaboration with Swift, but Cowboy Carter was still being dubbed Renaissance Second Act when the beatmaker shared the message.
Killah B, a writer and producer on “Poker,” spoke to TMZ about the highly anticipated project when it was first shared on Super Bowl Sunday.
When the host asked about a potential collaboration with a country artist who was apparently Swift, the producer responded, “You’ll have to wait and see,” before adding, “Let’s just say she’s about to rock the world. I’ll let your imagination decide what that means.”
Regardless of who (or who didn’t) appear on “Cowboy Carter,” the album is clearly an impeccable hit.
Billboard reports that as of its release date (March 29), the album has officially become Spotify’s most played album in a single day in 2024. The project’s “Texas Hold Em” has been played an additional 200 million times prior to the album’s release.
“Cowboy Carter [also] It’s her biggest debut album to date, with more first-day streams on Amazon Music globally than any of her previous albums. The album also became the most-streamed first-day country album by a female artist in Amazon Music history. “
“Cowboy Carter” is also a family movie, with a guest appearance by six-year-old daughter Rumi Carter.
While the highly anticipated project features big names like Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson , but Queen Bey also collaborates with Rumi, one of the twins she gave birth to in 2017.
Rumi appears on “Protector,” the fourth song on the lengthy 27-track country album. In the intro she can be heard briefly saying: “Mom, can I listen to a lullaby?”
The song is a tender acoustic ballad about Beyoncé’s love for her children, with lyrics like: “If you’re lost, I’ll guide you down that path/Born to be a protector/Even though I know One day you will shine your own light/I will be your projector.”
