West Coast rapper Ray Vaughn has responded to Joey Bada$$’s recent slights about the region in his “The Ruler’s Back” freestyle.
On Wednesday (January 8), the TDE signee shared his volatile new version of “Crashout Heritage,” which features him taking direct shots at multiple targets, including Tory Lanez and famed Drake stan Mal from the New Rory & Mal podcast And former Joe Budden.com. However, the bounty he most desires seems to be none other than Joey Bada$$ himself.
Ray tagged Joey in a tweet that included a visual clip from the song, during which he dissed the East Coast rapper and referenced what was actually a boosie badazz his content. Not to mention, he does so on the thoughtful GNX album cut “The Heart Pt.” 6,” captures one of Kendrick Lamar’s most publicly vulnerable moments since “Mr. Morale” and “Strider.”
“There will be no sneaky taunts in 2025, only meltdowns,” Ray tweeted.

As for the diss itself, Ray raps: “What’s up with the sneaky dissin? Shoot us and hide the Uzi / ‘Cause the only recognized badass in the world is Boosie.”
He then continued at the bar: “Please don’t get confused about filming a movie, we’re actually filming it.”
In a post shared by AllHipHop, Ray’s Bar took aim at Joey, with users taking to the comments section eager for a showdown between the two rappers.
“Yeah! It was a great fight. Great match!” one user wrote in the comments, while another added, “Haha I love hip-hop.” “
Another user shared their theory that instances like this can take superstar artists to unprecedented levels, comparing Kendrick’s legend to that of major JAY-Z.
“Dot looks really like King now…” the user wrote. “It reminds me of when you went to Jay’s, unless you were considered a great guy… you had to deal with Black, Beans, etc. So, until you picked up a pen and called out names… those shots Neither will fall to the ground. This is why you maintain your throne for the time being.
Other users were sceptical, doubting whether an emerging artist like Ray would be able to pull it off when matched against a baby-faced veteran like Joey.
“This is so toxic! Yet.. Joey will clean this n#### up!” one user exclaimed.
Another user added, “Joy flow is much harder than this guy.” Another user added, “The whole TDE has to mention someone’s name to get the action.
