Rapper Armani White was arrested in Kentucky after police said the chart-topping rapper closed part of Interstate 75 to film a music video while traffic was backed up.
Metropolitan Police officers responded to a series of 911 calls reporting that White had been seen climbing a concrete median on Interstate 75 and dancing while his crew recorded the scene.
The Philadelphia artist was taken into custody Sunday night in Laurel County and charged with second-degree disorderly conduct and illegal parking on a restricted highway, according to police records.
He was booked into the Laurel County Correctional Center and later released. The 26-year-old was supporting T-Pain on his current tour when the incident occurred.
White shot to fame in 2022 with the hit “Billie Eilish,” which made NORE’s 2002 classic “Nothin” a social media hit. A 16-second teaser posted on Instagram and TikTok in February 2022 helped the song become popular around the world.
The song exploded across platforms, racking up over 60 million plays and generating over 41 billion views on TikTok. This momentum led to a record deal with Def Jam in July 2022.
In August 2023, Billie Eilish paid homage to the viral tribute by personally inviting White to the stage at one of her shows.
