Quando Rondo pleaded guilty on Tuesday (August 13) to one count of conspiracy to possess and distribute marijuana in Savannah, Georgia. As part of the plea agreement, federal prosecutors dropped charges that he conspired to possess and distribute cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
“I really want to apologize to the city of Savannah,” Quando Rondo said, according to WSAV. “I want to apologize to my family, my friends, my loved ones, and especially my daughters.”
Quando Rondo, whose real name is Tyquian Bowman, accepted a plea deal in June. In December 2023, he was arrested on federal drug charges.
“I just want everyone to know that I’m a changed person,” he declared Tuesday. “I am changing every day, and God has the last word…I am changing myself. It starts with myself. Change starts at home.
He added, “It doesn’t matter how bad the situation is. It doesn’t matter how bad things are. God can take you out of anything. So, with that being said, like I said before, I’m walking by faith, not by faith. Seeing it. Nothing can break me. It just makes me try harder.
State drug and gang charges are pending against Quando Rondo. A judge put his state case on hold until the federal drug case is resolved.
Quando Rondo faces up to five years in prison on federal drug charges. The 25-year-old rapper is scheduled to be sentenced on December 12.
The Atlantic recording artist’s legal troubles aren’t limited to his two criminal cases. A man is also suing him over a 2023 car crash. Quando Rondo allegedly caused “serious bodily harm,” leaving the plaintiff with more than $8,000 in medical bills. The civil case remains pending.
