Pooh Shiesty’s father is free on $250,000 bail but faces strict house arrest in a federal kidnapping case.
Pooh Shiesty’s father was released on $250,000 bail, but his freedom came with strict conditions.
A judge ordered Pooh Shiesty’s father to be placed under house arrest, the strictest possible condition short of remaining incarcerated.
It’s the latest development in the federal kidnapping and armed robbery case that has dogged the Memphis rapper since his arrest on April 2, 2026.
Friday’s detention hearing revealed prosecutors’ full case against Pooh Shiesty, his father and seven co-defendants, who are accused of orchestrating a coordinated ambush at a Dallas music studio on Jan. 10.
The alleged target was Gucci Mane, who arrived believing he was there on legitimate business.
Instead, he walked into a facility that prosecutors say involved multiple armed men, forced contracts at gunpoint and stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.
Pooh Shiesty allegedly pulled out an AK-style pistol and forced the label owner to sign documents releasing him from his contract with 1017 Records.
His father was present during the standoff, and prosecutors claim he printed the release documents beforehand at Staples in Frisco, Texas.
Other victims were not spared. One man was choked and nearly unconscious, while another man’s Rolex, wallet and designer bag were stolen.
Prosecutors presented evidence that included electronic surveillance data from Vinnie Shesty’s ankle monitor, surveillance video from a neighboring building and social media posts showing stolen items.
Investigators also recovered firearms from vehicles and homes associated with the defendants.
Vinnie Shesty remains incarcerated in Dallas, but his father’s house arrest bond signals the court’s willingness to release some defendants while keeping them under strict supervision.
According to NBC News, all nine defendants could face life in prison if convicted of the federal charges.
