We are very close. PartyNextdoor and Drake swayed OVO fans in August when they announced plans for a joint album. Six Gods came out at the PND show and confirmed that fans will have something to listen to in the fall. Well, Autumn has been here for a while, and there’s still no word on an album. Drake radio radio silence. Partynextdoor continues to tour. Thankfully, the latter gave fans a much-needed update on November 4th.
Partynextdoor popped up on Instagram Live to confirm that he’ll be kicking the album into high gear after he leaves the tour. “I have one more show on this tour,” he explained to fans, “and then the album is done.” This is the most concrete update fans have had in months, and it lines up with what we’ve been told before . PARTYNEXTDOOR claimed that the joint album will contain 15 songs. OVONoel, a veteran member of Drake’s team, also gave fans a hint of what to expect when he appears on The Fry Yiy Show in October.
PartyNextdoor promises to finish album as soon as possible
“You know what’s going to happen,” Overnoel told the host. “Paddy and Drake have a classic. We’re working hard to put the finishing touches on it.” The fact that OVONoel has yet to put the finishing touches on it a month after making its comments isn’t the most encouraging sign. That said, the PARTYNEXTDOOR tour does make sense. The singer has been promoting his last album PND 4.
It’s so encouraging to know that PARTYNEXTDOOR is about to enter album mode. Drake has been very public over the past few months, but not when it comes to music. The rapper celebrated his birthday and spoke to the Toronto crowd about feeling betrayed. He also attended a Toronto Raptors game where he stared down and openly mocked opposing player DeMar DeRozan. The latter sided with Kendrick Lamar in the 2024 rap battle and appeared in the “Not Like Us” video. Apparently, Drake still has a way. Hopefully he can focus on making a great R&B album.
