North West is signed to independent music label Gamma, which also released Ye’s upcoming album Bully.
According to a report published by Rolling Stone on Thursday (February 19), North West is an artist under Gamma, a company run by former Apple executive Larry Jackson. The media company has teamed up with North’s father, Ye, to produce his 12th studio project, Bully, which will launch on March 20.
Details of North’s deal with Gamma were not disclosed, but the 12-year-old rap prodigy is apparently in the studio recording music for her debut solo album.
Earlier this month, North released her first official single, “Piercing on My Hand,” on the digital streaming platform. The soulful song, produced by Ye and Will Frenchman, has North bragging about his lavish teenage lifestyle.
“Piercing my hands, other bands/No friends, just fans, you wouldn’t understand,” North spits on the chorus. “Shopping in Japan, that’s where I always stand/went to school for two days and then I got banned.”
As for her music project, it is tentatively titled “Elementary School Dropout.” In January 2025, Ye briefly shared some information about her daughter’s album in an Instagram post, which has since been deleted. The update features a black-and-white image of North sitting next to a keyboard.
“This little girl made me fall in love with music again,” Ye wrote in the caption of a black-and-white photo of North sitting next to a keyboard. “She asked me to make beats for her, and I went back to ASR Chopped to make beats for her album, and made every beat for BULLY freehand.”
There’s no official word yet on when Northwest will release her debut album.
