NLE Choppa boldly asserts his place among this generation of artists, calling himself the Michael Jackson of his peers.
The Memphis native performed to another packed crowd during his world tour in Canada over the weekend. He showed off his achievement on Instagram, along with a clip of the performance. According to NLE Choppa, he was the “greatest” artist of his time.
“Newfoundland, Canada SOLO/DOLO SOLD OUT!!!” NLE began his caption. “Please respect my name. I am the greatest of my generation… [middle finger emoji] That’s my greatest. You guys gotta catch up with me, I’m only 21 and the arena is already sold out! Don’t play with me.
He ended with a comparison to Michael Jackson, adding, “I might as well say hee hee here, I’m on my MJ!!!”
NLE Choppa doubled down on the comparison to Michael Jackson in a follow-up post. He shared a video of a stadium packed with fans singing along to his hit song “S### Me Out 2.”
“The Michael Jackson of hip-hop. Straightforward period,” he wrote.

The 21-year-old rapper is probably dubbed the “King of Pop” because of a recent list of the 20 top rappers in their 20s. NLE Choppa was furious that he was not included in the list and responded with an angry rant.
“October, I’m going to make you motherfuckers feel me,” he says in the video. “After nine months, I’m gonna get through this S### SZN s###, and I’m gonna talk this s### out. After that, I’m back on your ass. Because you guys really let me Get excited.
