Nas has been working on a variety of cultural initiatives lately. Most recently, he teamed up with Mass Appeal to pay tribute to hip-hop legends through the “Legend Has It…” campaign. But now, the mogul is taking it a step further and giving hip-hop lovers a generous gift.
Nas and Resorts World New York have officially committed to co-funding a $2 million hip-hop museum. The museum, planned for the Bronx, will consolidate and commemorate the work of the hip-hop artist.
The announcement is part of the $2 billion in community benefits RWNYC committed to when it submitted supplemental bid documents to build the largest integrated resort in the United States. Nas expressed his feelings on this momentous occasion in an official RWNYC announcement/report.
“Building this hip-hop museum is something our culture has needed for a long time,” he said. “It is empowering to see a space created to preserve this history and educate and inspire the next generation. It is an honor to be able to contribute alongside Resorts World to help realize this vision. This museum is a reminder of where we come from and a celebration of all that hip-hop continues to live on.”
With every move Nas makes, he truly cements his legacy as one of the world’s best business minds and custodians of hip-hop culture. What do you think?
