The mother of Lil Poppa’s son expressed her anguish in a heartfelt message about the late rapper’s tragic death.
The mother of Lil Poppa’s son Toie Roberts shared an emotional message on her Instagram page on Tuesday (March 3), expressing her grief following the Florida rapper’s sudden death on February 18, 2026. The post also includes several photos of Toie, Poppa and their baby boy having fun together.
Toie, the eldest daughter of Rick Ross and the mother of Poppa’s three-year-old son Kofi J’nar (aka PJ), wrote in the post below that she is grieving the loss of the late Rhymer, Janarious Mykel Wheeler.
“No words can describe the pain, thoughts and ongoing heartbreak of it all,” she wrote in part. “Our reality was changing before my eyes. I kept wondering how you could be so eager to leave us, so suddenly, so excruciatingly.”
“Let us go on living without you…but deep down, [I] I know you didn’t mean it and you didn’t mean to hurt us,” she continued. “Especially not Kofi…at least not like that! How could you leave without saying goodbye?! [I] I really don’t understand& [I] It feels like it’s all being played, but [I] Know you understand why. “
Despite the pain, Toy wrote that she found comfort in the memories they shared and in her love for her son, Kofi.
“This is not the American plan! [I] I don’t believe this is where our story should end, but with God’s help we will get through this,” she wrote. “BG has figured out how to carry on without you, PS, even though we’re talking about 4 lives, watching our only son PJ grow up before my eyes without you, while looking and acting just like you!”
“I hope [I] Find the missing piece of the puzzle,” she continued. “None of this makes sense. My son lost his father! I will never take this lightly! So no, [I’m] I’m not happy to make you sad and grieve for two people for the rest of my life! ! ! “
“Gianaris, [I] Got Janal. You continue to rest. [I] I hope you find the peace you’ve been looking for,” Toi added. “We’ll be fine. [Thank] You are everything for me, from the bottom of your heart. [Blue heart emoji] We love you so much and we will miss you endlessly throughout our lives! [teary-eyed emoji and wing emoji],” she concluded.
Lil Poppa died in a car accident on February 18 in Georgia. The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office later determined his death was caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was 25 years old.
