There’s some good news – the rapper was acquitted of several serious charges.
The conviction is part of a massive federal crackdown on gun and drug crimes in Arkansas, where the rapper was originally arrested in 2022.
The charges stem from an extensive investigation into drug and gun trafficking across the state, linking Freddie to illegal activity.
A federal operation uncovered ties between several individuals, including Bankroll Freddy (real name Freddy Gladney III), and a large drug distribution network.
In addition to the drug charges, the indictment also relates to the possession of multiple firearms that were allegedly used to further the drug trafficking operation.
For Freddie, the verdict marked a serious downturn in his career and life, in stark contrast to his public image as a rising star in hip-hop.
The federal investigation identified two main gangs, the “Every Body Killas” and the “Loady Murder Mobb”, indicating that these gangs were a significant part of drug distribution in the area.
The FBI report said Freddie’s involvement was a personal and familial act involving his father, Freddie Gladney Jr., and several siblings.
Conversations intercepted through wiretaps revealed that Freddy’s father ran an organized drug operation and had his children play various roles in the trafficking enterprise.
Now, Bancroll-Freddy faces prison time, reflecting the seriousness of the charges, which include multiple counts of drug possession with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm.
