Metro Boomin is a busy man. He’s just released two collaborative albums with Future and begun a hip-hop civil war with Drake, but the St. Louis producer is already looking forward to what’s next. He’s made it clear he wants to collaborate with Eminem on X (formerly Twitter), but it’s the rumored album between Metro and JID that’s really getting fans excited. It’s been a long time since the two artists have provided an update, but concerns over whether it was canceled due to rap beef politics have been put to rest.
On April 25, Metro was asked if the JID album “still exists,” to which he responded hastily. “Very true,” he tweeted back. Fans have expressed relief that JID is a Dreamville signee, and Metro’s relationship with J. Cole can be said to be complicated at the moment. Cole was the target of the Metro-produced single “Like That,” and he even responded with a diss of his own. However, the rapper took it back and appeared on the Metro-produced album cut “Red Leather.” All good, right? Well, not exactly. Metro also co-produced the “Like That” remix, which features more bars aimed at Cole’s head.

Metro Boomin is still working closely with JID
JID has yet to discuss Cole’s situation, but fans have good reason to be skeptical of his planned Metro collaboration. JID and Metro announced the album in March 2023. JID responded to the tweet, further promoting the album: “I loved working with you Bruda, it was a pleasure.” There are no details yet on a title or release date, but this has been The first album is called “JIDTRO”. There are also some clips of the two artists’ collaborations, most notably “Just Do It” and “Ashes2Ashes.”
JID is also very busy. The Atlanta rapper confirmed that he will release a solo album titled “Forever & a Day” before teaming up with Metro. Fans speculated it would be a sequel to The Forever Story, which proved to be his critical and commercial breakthrough in 2022. As with the Metro collaboration, a proper release is yet to come.
No matter how long it takes JID and Metro to produce the finished product, we can safely assume they’ll deliver the goods.
