Lil Durk’s trial has reportedly been postponed again, with a new start date of August 25th.
On Monday (February 23), Duke held another preliminary hearing in Los Angeles on his murder-for-hire case, in which he is accused of paying five dollars to kill Quindo Rondo in 2022. During the hearing, Duke’s trial date was postponed again, Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon reported.
“Lil Durk’s trial has been moved to August 25, 2026, with a hearing today, but there’s a problem,” Dillon tweeted. “If the judge grants pending motions filed by the three co-defendants seeking to separate their cases from Duke’s trial, Duke hopes to leave early. The August 25 date is to accommodate the co-defendants’ defense, not Duke.”
In recent months, several of Durk’s co-defendants have urged the trial to continue. Duke’s team opposed the delay and wanted the trial to proceed as soon as possible. However, his motion to severance has not yet been granted, meaning all co-defendants will be tried together.
Durk’s trial date has been postponed multiple times since his arrest in October 2024. It was originally scheduled to start on January 7, 2025, but was later postponed to October 14, 2025 due to the complexity of the case. Last September, a judge extended the date to January 6, 2026. In January this year, the date was moved to April 21.
Durk maintains his innocence. He was released last month after spending five months in quarantine for allegedly possessing an Apple Watch.
