L Series combined with L-ISA spatial audio technology to create an immersive experience at Coez & Frah Quintale’s concert in Florence, Italy
Italian hip-hop duo Coez and Frah Quintale use L-Acoustics L Series to create an immersive experience for their live performances through L-ISA spatial audio technology. The concerts were part of the duo’s national tour in support of their Lovebars album.
At a recent performance in Florence, Italy, the audience was immersed in the duo’s music using a specially designed 5.1 immersive L-ISA sound system, which also featured L-Acoustics’ L Series speaker technology for the first time.
The L series is compact and lightweight, uses 60% less manufacturing material, and takes up 30% less space than similar products. The 5.1 scene system consisted of five rigs, two L2s suspended from an L2D, with eight KS28 subwoofers in two rigs, each suspended behind a central L2/L2D rig. 24 K2s serve as external padding, while 14 Kara IIs at the edge of the stage provide space filling.
An additional six KS28s were placed in two left/right ground stacks in front of the stage, providing the necessary extra punch for the hip-hop audience. LA7.16 and LA12X amplification controllers drive the entire system.
“In addition to putting the stamp of approval on a new technology and being able to say we did it first, we now know that our investment, less about the pyrotechnics on stage, is more about the quality of the sound and the quality of the music. ,” said Fra Quintal.
Coez and Frah Quintale have built successful solo careers, blending poignant songwriting with hip-hop pop to create a unique style. They see this tour as an opportunity to provide fans with an immersive experience, allowing them to create an intimate environment in a larger venue than ever before.
“I was a little intimidated by the size of the arena because other shows I’ve been to in my life might have been a little cold,” Quintal noted. “This system allows us to create the mood and atmosphere of a smaller venue on a larger level.”
Sound designer Valerio Motta, who works with artists to help them adopt L-ISA and L Series, agrees. “The use of L-ISA provides a huge upgrade in spatialization, focus, sound impact and sound clarity,” he said. “Adding the L Series is the icing on the cake. The L2 is a huge improvement in many ways: smaller footprint, easier to install, and lighter weight, which is crucial when you’re using multiple suspensions in an immersive configuration.
“In many ways, the L-Series was developed with the L-ISA in mind,” explains Tom Laveuf, applications engineer at L-Acoustics. “The L Series is designed for rapid deployment and reduced error tolerance. It is also unobtrusive and blends discreetly into the scene. Combine this with the huge advancements in concert sound reinforcement quality and these features make it easier for our industry to adopt L-ISA technology for live sound reinforcement…this is the future.
He added: “Coez and Frah Quintale are hip-hop artists with very engaged audiences, and the most important aspects of the genre are the vocals and the rhythm. It’s clear to me that the experience is consistent across the entire audience, and you You can tell every fan hears and feels the same thing.
Coez & Frah take time out of their show each night to explain the technique to their fans. “They feel the difference themselves and hope the audience understands. I’m sure they also feel this is the way forward and it’s just a better way to experience live music.
