Kim Kardashian got a shocking reality check on a recent episode of “The Kardashians” when her brain scan revealed what her doctors described as “holes” in brain activity while she was busy studying for the California bar exam.
The SKIMS mogul spoke with Dr. Daniel Amen, a psychiatrist known for using brain imaging to assess mental health, who broke down the scans in stark detail.
“Low activity means the front part of her brain isn’t firing the way it should,” Dr. Amen told Kardashian, who was visibly upset by the discovery.
Scans revealed reduced function in key areas responsible for attention, decision-making and memory, a blow to someone trying to pass one of the country’s toughest professional exams.
Kardashian, who had previously been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm, initially denied the scan’s impact. But Dr. Amen linked the decrease in brain activity to the intense stress she experienced while studying.
“It’s stress,” he explains, linking her academic drudgery to nervous fatigue.
At first, Kardashian believed the aneurysm stemmed from the emotional toll of her protracted divorce from Kanye West, which took place under the glare of public scrutiny.
But over time, she came to realize that the relentless pace of legal studies was taking its toll. Her intense bar prep, long hours, high stakes and little rest became more than just a mental strain.
According to Dr. Amen, this physically changed the way her brain functioned. The “holes” scanned were not literal gaps, but areas of lower activity that could impact her ability to retain information and make quick decisions.
It’s a worrying hurdle for Kardashian, who already failed the bar exam. Dr. Amen didn’t leave her toolless. He provided her with strategies for managing stress and improving cognitive function.
But the reality remains: Kardashian is stuck in a cycle, and the act of studying hard may make success more difficult.
