Kehlani is ready to release her self-titled album, and the song she just collaborated with Missy Elliott proves just how big of a statement it’s going to be. The lead track from the album is called “Back and Forth” and is a perfect blend of the RnB and hip-hop worlds.
The full album will be released on April 24, Kehlani’s birthday, and is the follow-up to the critically acclaimed 2024 album Crash. On the other hand, it’s refreshing to see Missy experiment in recent years, with unexpected collaborations like Skrillex.
Whether Kehlani will feature on her upcoming album remains to be seen. Naming an album after yourself is a statement, and naturally comes with a lot of pressure. But so far, the pressure seems to be nothing for Kehlani — from impeccable live performances alone and with Cardi B to boldly releasing new music. Let’s see what happens!
