Kanye West will be a part of his upcoming documentary In Whose Name? ” described the experience as intense and reflective, comparing it to “looking back after death” on one’s own life.
The film was directed by 18-year-old Nico Ballesteros and took six years to complete.
Armed only with an iPhone and a reported multi-billion dollar budget, Ballesteros follows West on an introspective journey that promises to confront the artist’s rise to fame, his outspoken personality and the controversy that often surrounds him.
Ballesteros shared a glimpse of their collaboration via an Instagram post, which included a text exchange between him and 47-year-old rapper Ye.
“This doctor has so much depth,” West said in the message. “It will be like looking back on my life after I die.

Produced by Goodfellas and Utopia, the documentary aims to give viewers an uncensored look into the life of one of hip-hop’s most polarizing figures.
“In whose name?” Emphasis explores West’s journey from musical innovator to becoming the richest black man in American history, while addressing the risks he took in the name of personal and creative freedom.
The film, set for release in 2025, is expected to be a candid and immersive portrait of West’s life and career, focusing on his inner struggles, larger-than-life ambitions, and often controversial expressions of faith.
In addition to the documentary, West is reportedly working on his 11th studio album, titled “Bully.”
While an official release date has not yet been announced, sources speculate that it could launch sometime next year.
