Kanye West is facing a bombshell new lawsuit accusing him of threatening to kill a former Yeezy employee hired to investigate sex trafficking that may have involved the Kardashian family.
A Michigan man who chose to keep his identity secret out of fear for his safety filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles on Thursday (October 10), alleging emotional distress, retaliation and multiple violations of the California Labor Laws.
According to the lawsuit seen by HipHopDX, the man claims he was hired by Kanye in December 2022 to work on his later-cancelled presidential campaign, initially as deputy campaign director and later named director of intelligence.
It was in this role that the man was tasked with investigating Yip’s various associates and enemies, including the family of Yip’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian, for “various alleged connections.” [Kanye] They are believed to have links to criminal enterprises, including alleged sex trafficking.
He also claimed that West asked for a private investigator to follow his now-wife Bianca Censori without her knowledge while she traveled to Australia to visit family.
The man claimed that his relationship with Kanye began to unravel earlier this year when he learned of alleged child abuse at Donda Academy, Ye’s school — around the same time the rapper “began firing most of Yeezy’s leadership layer” and “consuming nitrous oxide,” which he suspects contributed to his “erratic behavior.”
After notifying other senior Yeezy employees of the school’s allegations, the man said he received an angry phone call from Kanye in which he “threatened[ed] [him] If he repeated the child abuse claims, he would suffer serious bodily harm, including death.
The GOOD Music founder also allegedly sent him recordings of “scary sounds” and threatened to harm him, with Ye’s “enforcers” also issuing threats.
The man claims this “campaign of threats, intimidation and harassment” triggered his post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) stemming from his time in the military, leading him to enter a mental health treatment facility.
“Mr. Ye has only himself to blame for his growing legal woes. He cannot continue to employ employees, treat them harshly and then refuse to pay them, in violation of numerous employment laws, not to mention threatening to kill as in this case They did,” the man’s attorney, Ron Zambrano, said in a statement.
“Our client is so fearful of Ye and his erratic, disturbing and unpredictable behavior that he wishes to remain anonymous for his own safety. It is not only illegal for an employer to threaten any employee with physical harm or death; is unreasonable.
Kanye’s Yeezy company is also named as a defendant, and the plaintiff plans to later identify 10 unnamed parties.
The lawsuit seeks compensation for unpaid wages, attorney’s fees and general and punitive damages to be determined at trial.
Kanye has yet to respond to the accusations.
