Kanye West says Future asked him to record a new “Like That” remix, claiming everyone was excited to criticize Drake.
Kanye West says his future calls him into the studio for ‘Like That (Remix)’
More previews of Kanye West’s upcoming appearance on Justin Laboy’s The Download podcast surfaced online on Monday (April 22). In the interview, which will premiere in its entirety on Yeezy.com on Monday at 7 p.m., Ye revealed that Future personally called him to jump on a remix of Hendrix and Metro Boomin’s chart-topping single “Like That.” Like the original version, which featured Kendrick Lamar, the remix was designed to throw shots at Drake, and Kanye said everyone involved felt a level of excitement.
“Pluto called me,” Kanye West explains in the video below. “I went to the studio, laid the groundwork, and then we went through the creative process… You know, everyone was very, very excited about Drake’s elimination. Not excited, but we were energized.”
On Future and Metro’s “Like That (Remix),” Ye directly addresses Drake.
“You know we gotta get the gangsters in here, we gotta bust this motherfucker,” Kanye says at the start of the remix, seemingly referring to Drizzy.
He then sings the line: “Y’all out of sight, out of mind/I can’t even think of Drake’s line.”

Ye considers Universal Music Group and record company CEO Lucian Grainge to be Drake’s “rich dad”
Elsewhere on the upcoming episode of The Download, Ye took more shots at 6 God, referencing Drake’s song “Rich Baby Daddy” featuring Sexy Red and Sza. He told interviewer Justin Laboy that, in his opinion, Drizzy himself has a “rich dad,” Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group and the label. This means that Grainge and UMG are strategically placing Drake in a position of power in the music industry.
“Derek has a rich baby daddy named Lucien and Universal,” Kanye said below. “He said, ‘Man, my dad gets it.'” You know what I’m saying? Drake has a rich baby daddy named Lucien.
Why is Kanye West so excited about Driss Drake?
Kanye West has seemingly embroiled himself in the ongoing feud between Drake and Future, Metro Boomin, Kendrick Lamar and more, but his name is in the mix Never mentioned in this round of diss tracks. However, given Ye’s long and storied history with Toronto MC, his stance isn’t surprising. After what seemed like a bit of a cold war between the two influential rappers throughout the 2010s, rumors of an all-out beef became a reality in 2018. After his son Adonis was born, Drizzy accused Ye of providing secret messages to Push.
After several years of subliminally waxing, Kanye and Drake had enough at the free Larry Hoover benefit concert in Chicago in 2021. The feud was broken down when Kim Kardashian’s voice was used. In March 2024, Ye wrote “F**k Drake” on Instagram, and a month later he appeared on “Like That (Remix),” letting the smoke settle.
