Not long ago, Ye made headlines again when he apologized to the Jewish community for making hateful remarks. He sincerely claimed that his actions were simply a result of deteriorating mental health (due to not taking medication for bipolar disorder) and promised to do better.
However, this does not absolve the artist of his past statements, and recent developments suggest the same. PepsiCo has officially withdrawn funding for the Wireless Music Festival featuring Kanye. Not long ago, British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer publicly condemned Kanye for inviting him to perform after he made anti-Semitic comments and sang songs such as “Heil Hitler.”
Sir Keir said: “Anti-Semitism in any form is abhorrent and must be fought resolutely wherever it appears. “Everyone has a responsibility to ensure that Britain is a place where Jews feel safe.” Kanye returns to the UK after 11 years and headlines the entire three days of the festival.
