Kanye West has been named in a new lawsuit filed by a former employee who claims the embattled rapper discriminated against black men and women on his team.
Court documents obtained by Page Six and filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday (April 26) claim that former Donda Academy security guard Benjamin Deshaun Provo suffered “serious mental illness” as a result of West’s actions. Troubled”.
“Kanye and members of his management team treated Provo and other black employees less favorably than white employees,” the lawsuit reads in part. “Specifically, Kanye regularly screamed and berated Black employees, while in contrast, he never raised his voice with White employees.”
Provo also claimed that West would mock his black employees for wearing hats, although Provo mentioned that he did so because it was part of his Muslim faith.
“Kanye and members of his management team required Provo to make choices in these critical areas of his self-identity and financial stability,” the complaint continues. “In fact, at Kanye’s behest, Provo was given an ultimatum to cut her hair or be fired.”
In addition to being forced to cut off his hair, Provo claimed that Kanye West would be banned from publishing books by famous black leaders, including Malcolm X and Martin Luther King.
Provo did not seek specific damages in the lawsuit.
Earlier this month, another former Donda Academy employee, Trevor Phillips, also filed a case that also brought multiple charges of abuse and discrimination against the Chicago native. He joined the controversial agency back in 2022, and is currently suing Ye for discrimination, harassment and creating a hostile work environment, TMZ reported.
According to legal documents, the Yeezy boss allegedly “bullied” black employees, repeatedly talking about porn addiction and even admitting to “frequent masturbation” despite his habit of binge-watching.
Additionally, Phillips shared a recording of what he claimed was his former boss saying, “Homosexuals are not true Christians. Gays are controlled by Bill Gates and don’t have children in order to control the population.”
The plaintiffs also claim that the “Flash” hitmaker said “Hitler was great” and “Jews are greedy.”
In the same lawsuit, Phillips claims Kanye tried to “set up prisons at his schools to ‘lock up’ students,” “give preferential treatment to white employees,” and even threatened to hit him when he allegedly “lost his temper.” “
According to Rolling Stone, the 42-page indictment also details the defendants’ “spontaneous shootings, late-night summons to Nobu, watching “Batman” on mute, and clumsily directing Ye to pretend to masturbate.”
“By filing this lawsuit, we hope that the rights of our injured clients will be vindicated and that renowned artist Mr. West will understand that his message – which we allege promotes discrimination, anti-Semitism and love for Hitler – “It has no place in the world,” attorney Phillips said in a statement to PEOPLE.
As of now, it’s unclear how much money West is being sued for, as his representatives have not yet responded to HipHopDX’s request for comment.
