J. Cole is about to join the Chinese Basketball Association and compete with the CBA team Nanjing Monkey Kings.
On Wednesday (April 1), the Chinese Basketball Association officially announced on its Instagram page that J. Cole has signed with the CBA and will serve as a point guard for the CBA Nanjing Monkey Kings. North Carolina Yun arrived in China that day and started working.
In the video below, Kerr takes a shot during pregame warmups. Unfortunately, he did not play for the team later that night. However, in another clip, Cole signs an autograph on the court, his first as a CBA player.
This marks Cole’s third overseas appearance in a professional sport. In 2021, the 41-year-old rapper joined the Rwanda Patriots of the African Basketball League. In 2022, Cole played for the Scarborough Meteors of the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
J. Cole joining CBA doesn’t mean his rap career is over. In July, the Grammy-nominated artist will embark on his The Fall-Off world tour in support of his latest album, The Fall-Off. The hike begins in Charlotte, North Carolina, in July and will travel to major cities such as Miami, Philadelphia, New York, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas. The tour will conclude its North American tour on September 23 in Cole’s hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
