In April 2018, when KOD was removed from the shelves, the world learned about The Fall-Off for the first time. At the time, it was just an album with “1985” in parentheses, but we’ve learned a lot about it since. Cole made this album with the idea that he could be content with this being the last album he would offer the world. He’s not shy about expressing how hard he pushes himself, and while that comes with some pretty heavy expectations, he seems pretty confident.
Now, after ten years of hard work, The Fall-Off is finally in theaters everywhere.
The album is divided into two discs, Disc 29 and Disc 39, each representing Cole’s return to his hometown at a different stage in his life. He admits that a second wind of inspiration after Kendrick and Drake’s falling out pushed the two-part album.
