Producer-directed Williams isn’t the only thing Drake and Joey Bada$$ have in common.

J. Cole became a trending topic on Twitter on Monday (January 20) as users reacted to the “No Role Modelz” lyricist being assaulted by two of his contemporaries.

Joey Bada$$ throws a punch line at J. Cole on his new song “Sorry Not Same,” produced by Conductor Williams, who also produced Drake’s recent “Fighting Irish Freestyle” , fans suspected that the song was a diss song directed at LeBron James.

Joey Bada$$ references J. Cole’s feud with Kendrick Lamar on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” in an attempt to remove the North Carolina native’s “7 Minutes” against West training” diss track decision cast a shadow. Coastal Pulitzer Prize Winner.

More specifically, Joey Bada$$ raps, “Probably gonna delete it later, I know Joey sure ain’t gonna/F*ck it, I want all the smoke.”

Joey Bada$$’s poignant words come in the wake of his recent single “The Ruler’s Back,” which fans believe targets Kendrick Lamar Lamar).

“Mild attack on J Cole, but other than that, Joey is still rapping,” one Twitter user tweeted in response to the remark. “I love it.”

He just wanted us to listen to his music. I don’t think he really wanted to fight. keep going. Ha ha

Another user retorted, “It’s not a shot, it’s a reference – every reference is not a shot…more of a subtle jab, but a shot nonetheless.”

As if the buzz caused by Joey Bada$$’s subtle sneak peek wasn’t enough, J. Cole’s name has also appeared in the news regarding Drake’s upcoming Anita Max Win tour. Screenshots of a directive shared by an Australian arena banning concertgoers from wearing merchandise from other artists, including Kendrick Lamar’s pgLANg and J. Cole’s Dreamville, have begun circulating on social media. The rules apparently even prohibit fans from mentioning the artist’s name or their lyrics at Drake’s concerts.

“Is this an orchestrated troll?” one Twitter user wrote in disbelief. “This can’t be true… No. Wouldn’t even consider it legal. No.” Another user added, “Does he want to talk about Lacey being a weak opponent? The nerve of this asshole, haha.”

See the fine print of the warning from the arena ahead of Drake’s tour in the screenshot below.
