The big question of whether J. Cole will appear on Drake’s Iceman album appears to have been answered.
On Wednesday (February 25), Instagram page Bars posted a video of J. Cole meeting fans and signing autographs for his latest project, “The Fall-Off,” during his Trunk Sale tour in Los Angeles. In the clip (seen below), Cole is asked if he will appear on Drake’s highly anticipated album Iceman .
“Cole, can we expect you to appear in Iceman?” the man asked.
Cole seemed confused by the question and responded: “Say what?”
“Iceman, this month,” the man retorted.
“I don’t know,” Cole replied.
It’s unclear if the man was pranking Cole, but the rapper didn’t take the bait. Still, there’s been a lot of speculation surrounding Drizzy’s new album.
Snippets of two new songs from Drake were leaked earlier this month, shortly before Cole delivered his The Fall-Off project. On February 5, DJ Akademiks jumped on his live stream and sneakily dropped snippets of several unreleased Drizzy songs.
“When I say ‘free the slimes,’ I’m not saying that, I’m really…” Drake raps, before Acker suddenly cuts off the music.
Ak then seemed to hint that he knew when Iceman would drop before playing a longer clip from another unreleased Drake song in which the OVO Sound leader raps about greatness.
“You know what? Don’t tell me I’m not the greatest/People you say are great are just understating it,” he spits. “Fuck the haters, the double agents/even my label, gave them 15 years of their souls…”
Leaked clips aside, J. Cole is currently riding high with a #1 album and a successful Trunk Sale tour that took him across the country before wrapping up in Los Angeles.
