Irv Gotti, co-founder of the murder of Inc. Records, died suddenly at the age of 54 on February 5. His brother and partner of the murder company, Chris Gotti, now leaves a huge gap that he can never fill.
Although the exact cause of death has not been announced, Gotti, who is fighting type 1 diabetes, suffered a stroke just days before his death. Chris recently sat down with Damon Dash and Mark Halperin to discuss the episode of 2 Tonight. During the conversation, Chris revealed that his brother had a stroke while having a Chinese meal while playing poker.
“When he was in his 40s, he was diagnosed, but the IRV was not going to see a doctor,” Chris actually said. “That’s why he was diagnosed. When he finally went for a real physical and exam, They are like “You are diabetes.” […] The IRV did comply with his conditions. He just didn’t believe it, basically he had a bunch of Chinese food while playing poker and had a lot of hemorrhagic stroke, which was bleeding in the brain. ”
Chris Gotti went on to explain that it wasn’t diabetes that killed him, but what the disease did to his body.
Dame Dash jumped out and praised Irv Gotti for “pushing” and “making history” throughout his career. He also pointed out that he has all the money in the world but cannot surpass his health.
He still had all kinds of bread and food that killed him. The explanation is that money cannot keep you alive. Strength, having a crew, well dressed, none of that keeps you alive, but the things that keep me going, all the people who look at me are just as strong, I don’t want them to have to wash behind me. I can’t even understand IRVs like this […] I hope he can fight for his health […] When I lose people, it makes me love life and appreciate it even more. ”
Chris shared a clip of an interview with his Instagram account on Saturday (February 22) and implored people to watch the episode just because of its importance.
“This is the conversation you need to hear!” he wrote in the title. “I sat down with Dame Dash @duskoppington on @2waytvapp and had one of the most real discussions about life, health and heritage. It’s not just another interview, it’s about how we move forward, how we protect our families and how we can Take care of yourself. It’s special and I hope everyone can attend. Watch the full interview now! irv43ever.”
