Irv Gotti has responded to allegations that he sexually assaulted his ex-partner, denying any wrongdoing.
According to TMZ, a representative for the Murder Inc. record label boss has expressed doubts about the accusations and claims the woman filed the lawsuit after unsuccessfully trying to blackmail Gotti, whose real name is Owen Lorenzo Jr.
“[The suit] The case was brought after Mr Gotti resisted the man’s attempts to force him to pay. The lawsuit contains a page of “facts” that are unsworn, minimal by any standard, and categorically denied by Mr. Gotti,” they said.
“These accusations are an insult to women who have truly suffered abuse. Mr. Gotti has been surrounded by strong women throughout his life – his mother, five sisters and daughter.
“His company’s top employees are all women. Mr. Gotti’s relationships with women have been characterized by mutual respect, honesty and empathy. Mr. Gotti’s reputation has been called into question.
The representative added that Gotti plans to fight the “baseless” lawsuit in court and is even considering filing his own defamation counterclaim.
The lawsuit, filed July 11 in Miami-Dade, Florida, accuses Gotti of repeatedly sexually assaulting and abusing the woman between 2020 and 2022 in St. Martin, Miami and Atlanta.
The woman, Jane Doe, claimed that she met Gotti at a poker tournament in the summer of 2020, and that Gotti subsequently invited her to vacation with him in St. Martin.
During their trip to the Caribbean island, she claims the hip-hop producer forced her to have sex with him and threatened to send her home if she didn’t. “Because of his power and influence in the music industry, she complied,” the lawsuit states.
The two then began dating, but their relationship was allegedly marred by “ongoing abuse,” with Gotti repeatedly forcing the woman to engage in “unwanted sexual conduct” and “berating” her.
After they split in 2022, the alleged victim claimed that Gotti slandered her on a “vast social network” in and around Los Angeles, making her afraid to leave her home.
“As a result of this sexually abusive relationship, Plaintiff suffered severe emotional and psychological harm that required her to be committed to a psychiatric ward,” the lawsuit states. “These harms continue and impact Plaintiff to this day.”
The woman is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages.
After news of the lawsuit broke, Irv Gotti’s nemesis 50 Cent was quick to mock the Murder Inc. mogul, writing on Instagram: “Oh no [flushed face emoji] …The legal fees would break his ass in half, and he has no money. Best wishes to all.
He also jokingly teased a documentary about Gotti and Murder, Inc., a nod to the actual documentary he sold to Netflix about the sexual assault allegations against rival Diddy.
