According to reports, Ip Man’s comeback concert in Los Angeles earned US$33 million.
The artist, whose real name is Kanye West, returns to the American stage with two major concerts on April 1 and April 3 at SoFi Arena in Los Angeles. The two shows grossed a combined $33 million, according to a report by Bloomberg on Sunday (April 5). The first show reportedly grossed $18 million, which would make it one of the highest-grossing live shows of all time. At the concert, Ye performed hits on a giant hemisphere, which also featured guest appearances from Travis Scott, Lauryn Hill, Don Tolliver and North.
Yeezy’s return to the U.S. market appears to be well-received. However, his scheduled headline performance at the upcoming Wireless Music Festival 2026 was snuffed out by local officials in the UK, who refused to allow the rapper entry into the country. The festival was subsequently cancelled.
A spokesperson for Wireless Festival issued the following statement to XXL regarding Ye’s canceled show.
“As with every Wireless Festival, we consulted with multiple stakeholders before booking Ye and no concerns were highlighted at the time,” the statement read. “Anti-Semitism in all its forms is abhorrent and we recognize the real and personal impact these issues have. As Ye said today, he acknowledges that words alone are not enough and, nonetheless, welcomes the opportunity to start a dialogue with the UK’s Jewish community.”
Previously, brands including PepsiCo and Diageo threatened to withdraw sponsorship if Ye performed well.
