ILoveMemphis is currently in police custody following a tense standoff with a SWAT team in Plantation, Florida, which was captured on Instagram Live.
According to Fox News Memphis, rapper ILoveMemphis, known for his 2015 hit single “Hit the Quan,” locked himself in a house in Plantation, Florida, on Monday night (February 9) and was arrested early Tuesday morning (February 10).
Hours later, police tried to evict Lemmer, 32, from the home, but he refused. ILoveMemphis reportedly live-streamed the incident on Instagram, and several clips online show him being rough with police officers and even claiming to be God at one point.
The intense standoff ended without anyone being injured when a SWAT team broke through the garage door and arrested ILoveMemphis. He was reportedly taken to a local hospital for evaluation before being arrested. Police charged the rapper, Richard Morris Colbert, with making written or electronic threats to kill (for which he had an active arrest warrant) and resisting arrest without violence. A dog was also removed from the property and released to a family member, according to police.
NBC Miami reports that homeowners association president Hank VanBaalen notified them that ILoveMemphis is leasing the property and that something appeared to be going on early Monday afternoon.
The rapper’s family told CBS News Miami they had been trying to get help for him for days. ILoveMemphis is currently being held in jail without bail.
