Rappers express displeasure over Mike Tyson’s loss to Jake Paul
The fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul was broadcast live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday (November 15). The match was broadcast live on Netflix and was a blast to watch. Although there was no knockout, the 27-year-old Paul emerged victorious after eight rounds with Iron Mike, who was gasping for air at times.
All three judges ruled in Paul’s favor. The scores were 80-72, 79-73, and 79-73 respectively. After Paul’s victory, his professional record improved to 11 wins and 1 loss, while Tyson dropped to 50 wins and 7 losses.
As the competition progressed, Freddie Gibbs, Boosie BadAzz, Meek Mill, Lil Pump, Babyface Ray and more shared their thoughts on X (formerly known as Twitter), with Paul ultimately winning.
“Fuck that fight. Still the GOAT,” Freddie Gibbs posted a photo sitting next to Tyson.
Meek Mill tweeted: “They set up Unc…”.
“With all due respect to Jake Paul, fuck all these haters, this kid did his thing,” Lil Pump added.
“Mike is getting old as hell,” Baby Face Ray said.
Netflix first announced the high-profile competition in March, and it is set to take place in July. However, the 58-year-old Tyson developed an ulcer during the flight and the fight was postponed. The game was later rescheduled for November 15th.
On November 7, Netflix premiered the first two episodes of “Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson,” a two-part documentary chronicling the lead-up to the fight narrated by Ice-T.
Tyson slapped Paul during a confrontation on Thursday (November 14) and Paul stepped on Iron Mike’s foot, sparking a scene that increased expectations for the fight. The fight was originally scheduled as an exhibition match but was later sanctioned as a professional boxing match.
