Gunna refocuses on becoming a better version of himself on his new album One of Wun. In this follow-up to “Gifts and Curses,” the College Park, Ga., process guru takes just a few guests on a journey to bliss. Offset, recent collaborators Normani, Leon Bridges and Roddy Ricch all do an excellent job of breaking up some of the more monotonous stretches. However, Gunna still manages to make himself interesting, especially on the “hakuna matata”.
It was clear that the trap veteran’s goal was not to succeed in this scheme. But “hakuna matata” is one of the easiest songs to understand or likely to end up on a Spotify playlist. In this clip, Gunnar talks about his new outlook moving forward, and it’s not a shame. Of course, die-hard Disney fans or anyone who’s seen The Lion King will know this iconic phrase.

Although the song’s tempo is reminiscent of many other cuts from One of Wun, it still sounds great. Gunna also delivers perhaps his strongest performance flow yet, sliding and gliding over the understated instrumental.
