The FBI said Gucci Mane gave a statement to police regarding the robbery and kidnapping charges against Vinnie Shesti and eight others.
On Wednesday (April 8), Pooh Shiesty appeared in a Dallas court for a detention hearing to determine whether to release him on bail. During the hearing, FBI Agent Pamela Hansen testified about the government’s findings. She revealed that most of the complaints were based on statements Gucci Mane and other alleged victims gave to police after they were called to the scene by Gucci security guards the night of the incident, the Dallas Morning News reported.
Hansen said Gooch and the other alleged victims have not yet been interviewed by the FBI, but those interviews have been scheduled. She also admitted that authorities did not obtain the contract release form that Vinnie allegedly forced Gurwoop to sign at gunpoint.
Vinnie’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, challenged the government’s case, saying it was unusual for the government to wait three months after the alleged incident to make an arrest.
“I think the testimony was all over the place,” Cohen told the court.
Reporter Bryson Paul reported that Vinnie leaned his head against the courtroom wall and his legs were shaking during cross-examination. The rapper also shook his head in disbelief when Hansen said Gucci Mane told his security guard to “put the gun down” after Vinnie’s crew outnumbered him.
Ultimately, Judge Renee Harris Tolliver granted the prosecutor’s motion and denied bail to the rapper.
“I can’t find any conditions that haven’t been made to you,” Judge Tolliver told Vinnie, referring to Vinnie’s house arrest at the time of the alleged crime.
Pooh Shiesty, his father, Big30 and six other men were charged in connection with the robbery. If convicted, they could face life in prison.
