It was indeed that time. Today is a crucial day for Eminem’s fans and will determine Eminem’s much-debated relevance in the current rap climate.
The anticipation finally came to an end as the veil was lifted on the project – it was only a conceptual project, and one that had often been teased in subtle ways throughout Em’s career. Slim Shady (Coup de Grace) is now available on all streaming platforms for viewers to judge, and we’re eager to see how this will impact Shady’s legacy.
Public Service Announcement: “Dead Slim Shady” is a concept album, so it may not make sense if you listen to the songs randomly. enjoy.

In the period leading up to its release, Eminem’s promotions have created mixed feelings. Sure, these music videos successfully evoke nostalgia, but the lyrical content is arguably nothing new for Eminem, at least thematically. Maybe it’s a curse, with so many seminal moments so early in one’s discography, that any concept that doesn’t change the world seems invalid. Or maybe it’s just that the albums are arranged in a certain order and the singles that precede the albums have less background information. Regardless, one thing is for sure – Eminem fans are here for the nostalgia, if nothing else, and hopefully over time they’ll appreciate the album’s concept. Hopefully the tracks make more sense now.

We’ve also seen Eminem’s hilarious take on the popular “Hawk Tuah” meme in the album’s promotion, which is completely unpredictable but believably fits the Slim Shady character. The trailer also shows a hand reaching out from a grave, which sets a strange precedent for the album’s concept. How did Slim Shady’s death change the zombie character? More importantly, what’s next for Eminem? Like it or not, it’s a phenomenon worth witnessing. Check out the projects below!
