Eminem released his twelfth studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) on Friday (July 12). The 19-track project features Big Sean, Babytron and JID, but some fans are wondering why 50 Cent (who appears in the album video trailer) and Dr. Dre aren’t rapping with Marshall Mathers.
While Dr. Dre did contribute production work to the album, Dre’s lyrical absence led fans to assume that a deluxe edition of “The Death of Slim Shady” was imminent.
As someone asked, “Didn’t 50 Cent and Dre confirm they were on Eminem’s album during the Jimmy Kimmel show? @Eminem what are you doing? Re-do all the B-sides [thinking face emoji]”. The fan also questioned why Eminem’s fellow Detroiter and old friend Royce, 5’9, wasn’t involved either.
“Pretty sure 50 said they had something coming out and they were talking about Em’s album at the time, but not sure about Dre, maybe he was talking about production,” the post continued. “There’s nothing wild about Royce on the album, I feel like they’ve written a few songs in the last few months.”

Dr. Dre, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg are guests on Jimmy Kimmel Live! In March, just after Dr. Dre received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During the interview, they were asked about the possibility of a new Eminem album. Dr. Dre confirmed that Em was working on The Death of Slim Shady project and that he had a hand in producing the album, but that was about it.
As for 50 Cent, he might just be chosen to star in a promotional video for the project. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Eminem did release a deluxe version of The Death of Slim Shady. Shortly after its release in 2020, he produced a deluxe edition of Music to Be Murdered By.
