French authorities last night hunted down fugitive rapper Dsavv in La Bouëxière, after which he was detained.
The 21-year-old artist has been evading a deportation order in the UK since his dramatic escape from Lewisham Hospital on February 15.
Dsavv’s arrest ended a two-week international manhunt in which he taunted police via social media while releasing hidden new music.
The Original Farm Boys member was in jail for an armed robbery that resulted in the theft of more than $115,000 in cryptocurrency and was due to be deported to Ghana.
Between June 2021 and January 2022, Boakhi and three associates forced victims at knifepoint to hand over their mobile phones and passwords across London.
The gang used stolen bank details to buy stored-value cards, book taxis and have takeaways delivered to their own addresses, eventually leading to their arrest.
French law enforcement is working with the Metropolitan Police and the National Crime Agency to find Dsavv. Investigators believe he was smuggled out of the UK in a lorry shortly after his second attempt to escape.
The rapper had previously escaped from West Middlesex University Hospital five days before his successful breakthrough. His first escape lasted just a day before he was recaptured, but his second escape proved more successful until his arrest last night.
Dsavv posted a video to his nearly 1 million followers on Instagram celebrating his freedom while smoking what appeared to be marijuana.
“I just broke out of jail like Modi,” he raps, referring to the character played by London rapper Dave in the Netflix crime drama Top Boy.
His taunts on social media included direct insults towards Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and British law enforcement.
The fugitive rapper also released “The Race” while on the run, a music video featuring an AI-generated British police car chasing a vehicle.
Police are currently looking for individuals who may have assisted Dsavv in his escape and subsequent smuggling operation into France.
Dasaf’s deportation proceedings will resume when he returns to British custody next week.
