A trial date for Diddy’s sex crimes case has reportedly been set, and both parties have agreed not to speak to the media at the latest hearing.
Diddy Case Update
The embattled media mogul made his first appearance on Thursday (October 10) before Judge Amit Subramanian, who is expected to preside over Pugh’s sex crimes trial in New York. During the hearing, some updates on the case were released, according to Inner City Press’ Mathew Russell Lee, who was covering the hearing.
During the hearing, prosecutors announced that additional charges may be filed in a superseding indictment. Both sides agreed to start the trial on May 5, 2025, citing the need for time to review all evidence gathered during the seven-month investigation. Prosecutors also disputed claims by Didi’s attorney that the case was racially motivated. As a result, both parties agreed not to grant interviews to the media.
Diddy’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 18.

Diddy faces tough legal battle
Diddy’s team went to great lengths to try to get him released on bail earlier this month after he was arrested and indicted on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation for prostitution. In addition to the initial bail of $50 million, Diddy’s legal team has appealed bail three times. On October 9, they filed a motion for an evidentiary hearing in the U.S. Court for the Southern District of New York, accusing the federal government of obstructing Pugh’s right to a fair trial by leaking video of Cassie’s attack in May.
“Defendant Sean Combs seeks four forms of relief from what the defense contends is a series of unlawful government leaks that resulted in damaging, highly prejudicial pretrial publicity that only tainted the jury. group and deprive Mr. Coombs of his rights.
Diddy is currently being held in a special housing unit at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn until his trial.
