Diddy is expected to be released from prison 40 days earlier than originally scheduled.
According to federal Bureau of Prisons documents obtained by XXL on Tuesday (March 3), “Puff Daddy” Sean Combs’s sentence has been shortened and his release date has been moved forward from June 4, 2028 to April 25, 2028. The Bad Boy Records founder is currently incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, New Jersey
Last October, Didi was sentenced to 50 months in prison for two counts of transporting prostitutes. He was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges and faced a possible life sentence.
“Diddy” was originally scheduled to be released on May 8, 2028, but the date was later pushed back 27 days in November. Although it was never confirmed, it was reported that his nearly month-long extension was due to alleged violations while incarcerated.
Diddy was admitted to a drug rehabilitation program in November, which could help shorten his sentence, Page Six reported.
XXL has reached out to Diddy’s team for comment.
The disgraced rap mogul’s new release date comes as his lawyers filed an appeal in December, arguing Diddy’s sentence was too harsh after he was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering. His lawyers have called for his immediate release and for his conviction to be quashed or his sentence reduced. However, prosecutors responded in February by opposing their appeal.
