Sean “Didi” comb stood at the center of explosive court testimony this week, with a former hotel security officer turned into a LAPD official describing the consequences of the 2016 attack on Cassie Ventura and claiming the hip-hop tycoon tried to repay him to keep silent.
Florez, Israel, who was working at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City, told jurors that after the incident, he saw Ventura with his “purple eyes” and found Diddy wearing a towel, sitting on it, “a blank stare… like a demonic stare, just looking at me.”
Florez said the music tycoon then pulled out a ball of cash and told him: “Don’t tell anyone.”
Flores replied: “I don’t want your money.”
The testimony follows CNN’s surveillance footage aired from the hotel, showing Diddy chasing Cassie Ventura’s corridor, throwing her to the ground, kicking her, dragging her, and throwing an object at her.
The video was recorded in March 2016 and released publicly last May, and is now the core evidence in Didi’s federal criminal trial.
Flores said he tried to check on Ventura after the attack but was stopped by one of Didi’s bodyguards. He said he saw her crouching in the corner, covering her face.
Later, when Florez and another guard returned to Diddy’s suite to remind him of the hotel rules, Diddy allegedly grabbed the other party’s phone and accused him of recording their conversation.
Florez testified that he had to physically bind Diddy to restore his phone to its original state.
Despite Didi’s legal team’s attempt to keep the video out, the judge ruled that it was acceptable. Cassie Ventura is expected to testify immediately against Diddy.
Prosecutors said the videotape supported Diddy’s case of long-term control and abuse patterns.
