Things are going well for Tyler, the Creator. The rapper was already considered a major talent with his first four albums, but his last four have taken things up a notch. Production, ambition, experimentation. Everything was heightened, and fans noticed. Tyler’s latest release, CHROMAKOPIA, has received rave reviews from fans and critics alike. Some call it his best album to date. Tyler, the Creator was so excited about the response that he decided to send flowers back to fans via Instagram.
On November 7, the rapper took to social media to share his heartwarming message. He posted a CHROMAKOPIA vinyl photo with a wall of white text on it. The gist of the message is that he’s trying to mature artistically as well as he’s mature as a person, and he’s grateful for fans who understand that struggle. “I’m at a different stage in life than when most of you met me,” he noted. “So it feels like a release to share these thoughts or feelings that I may/may not have easily accessed before.”
Tyler, The Creator is in a ‘different stage’ of life
Creator Tyler later claimed that his reaction to CHROMAKOPIA was unlike anything he had ever seen before. “Seeing so many of you resonate with this is a great feeling that I’ve never experienced before,” he concluded. “Thank you.” This isn’t the first time Tyler, the Creator has talked about getting older. The rapper expanded on the concept of maturation through music during his recent live performance. Still, he was quick to defend some of the controversial comments he made early in his career.
Tyler the Creator has lashed out at Taylor Swift fans who reportedly dug up old lyrics and tried to get him canceled. “[I] Swifties are getting their racist asses off at me and pulling out old lyrics,” he told his live show audience. “B*tch, go listen to ‘Tron Cat,’ I don’t give a shit. The rapper has mature plans, and his lyrics on ‘CHROMAKOPIA’ reflect that change, as he remains affectionate to his more grumpy side There is a soft spot, and maturity ultimately comes from trying to strike the right balance, a balance that fans of “Maker” can see.
