The lights were on in Detroit last night.
Claressa Shields, fresh off another stellar performance in the ring, came to the club to celebrate, and she didn’t come alone. Lil Boosie, aka baller Boosie Badazz, was in the building. The same goes for her boyfriend and potential future husband Paps. The energy is transferred directly from the arena to the after-party.
Shields has a lot to celebrate. The multi-division world champion once again proved why she is widely considered one of the greatest female boxers of all time. She is GWOAT! Her dominance was obvious and everyone felt it. She looks like she wants to knock the heads off old girls. I’m thinking in just a 3 minute round she’ll knock her out. Pap has earned praise for bringing hip-hop energy into the night. Whether inside or outside the Ring, his presence can be felt. Clarissa gave him a big hug and kiss in the ring.
There have also been whispers about his relationship with promoter Dmitry Salita, a former professional boxer who has guided Shields through much of his career through Salita Promotions. Whether this connection is purely business or something deeper remains to be seen, but it’s clear Pappus has become part of the overall presentation.

After taking off his gloves, Shields jumped on Instagram Live. Thousands of people tuned in and the atmosphere was electric. The camera work is shaky at times and it looks like she’s in full celebration mode. Honestly, she should probably hand her phone to someone else and enjoy the moment. Let the champion absorb it all.
She seemed especially excited to have Busey and Paps around her. The crossover between boxing and hip-hop feels organic.
Let’s not forget that the intensity of fight night sometimes spills over. There were reports of tension outside The Ring earlier in the evening. This only added to the emotionally charged narrative throughout the evening.
Shields continues to carry Detroit on his back. Busey brought the fire of the South. Pappus firmly supports it. Celebration, culture and championship energy all rolled into one night.
